STAGE 1
Mediation Invitation & Intake
$500 + GST
non-refundable
To secure your booking and begin the process, an initial non-refundable fee is required.

This stage includes:

Invitation to Mediation:
The practitioner will send formal invitations to the other party to engage in Family Dispute Resolution on three separate occasions.
Intake Sessions:
A separate, confidential telephone conversation (approximately 1 hour) with each party to assess whether mediation is suitable to proceed.
Certification:
If the practitioner determines mediation is inappropriate, or if the process does not proceed, a Section 60I Dispute Resolution Certificate will be issued (if applicable).

STAGE 2
Mediation
From $1,400 + GST
4 hour mediation - $1,400
(9:00 - 13:00 or 13:00 - 17:00)

8 hour mediation - $2,700
(9:00 - 17:00)

Once the practitioner has determined that mediation is appropriate, the remainder of the mediation fee becomes due.

This stage includes:

The Mediation Session:
A 4 or 8-hour facilitated session to resolve disputes.
Agreement Drafting:
Drafting the final agreement reached at mediation for parties who are self-represented.
Additional Terms
Refunds: Once mediation has commenced, no refunds will be provided. Please see Cancellation Policy.

Location: Mediation can take place either in-person or remotely. If in-person, travel fees may be applicable and will be advised upon booking.
Overtime: If mediation extends beyond the 4 or 8-hour window, an additional hourly rate will be charged.

Room hire
Parties may chose to have mediation at their solicitors offices.

Where that is not available, or if the parties would prefer a neutral setting, we can book a mediation space at cost to the parties. This will need to be paid up front by the parties prior to the mediation in accordance with our payment terms.

Alternatively, mediation can take place from the comfort of your own home via video link.Â
Cancellation Policy
We recognise that circumstances may change and a mediation may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. To ensure your request is processed promptly and accurately, all requests must be submitted via email to info@vanguardmediation.com.auÂ
Please note that requests made through any other channel cannot be accepted.

Fee Structure
A non-refundable fee of $500 + GST applies to all cancellations and rescheduling requests. In addition to this fee, the following charges apply based on the amount of notice provided:

7 to 14 days                 25% of the remaining mediation fee
Less than 7 days             50% of the remaining mediation fee
Less than 72 hours          100% of the mediation fee
